Evacuation Plan
You know it's slightly nerve wracking to have an evacuation plan at your campground because there's a possibility that the dam will fail and everyone will have to escape the deluge.

Rick LaVoie! How cool is this? I feel all, you know, teachery.
My friend, Kathy, wanted her picture with the keynote of the National CEC (Henry Winkler).
Me, I about had a heart attack when I knew I was going to get to meet Rick LaVoie! And for those of you who don't know: He is a leader in our field. Well, more of a path maker. He has taught teachers about teaching for many years and his videos are still the hallmark for what good teaching is all about. He inspires teachers to teach students rather than subjects. His information on how to work with our students with learning disabilities has been so influential that teachers use his terms almost as if they are a part of the collective subconscious. I've been reading his stuff for as long as I can remember and I've always wanted to meet him.
He's the person who inspired me to look at student behavior not as a conscious decision on the part of the student, but more of a lack of knowledge.
Yep, he's that influential.
Just so you know, this picture will be up in my classroom. This makes me kind of cool.
